James Gerard Lacey, 65, of Phoenix, AZ passed away on August 28, 2018. James was born to Thomas and Rosemary (Gatt) Lacey on August 31, 1952 in Detroit, Michigan. James was the second oldest of 8 siblings. After his education he was going to be drafted into the Army but enlisted into the Air Force on December 8, 1971 and made it his career. He retired on March 7, 1980 and was then a reservist until retiring again in 1995. After his retirements, James went on to work for Tennant Company for 30 years as an industrial mechanic. In 1975 James met Eva Del Carmen Caballero in Panama. They were married on August 2,1975 and raised two children, Christopher Lacey and Michelle Hubbs in Panama, Louisiana and Phoenix. James loved hiking, wood working, and enjoyed watching sports and salsa dancing with Eva. He is survived by his mother, Rosemary Lacey; children, Christopher Lacey and Michelle (Clay) Hubbs; 3 granddaughters, Bryce Lacey, Evita, and Willa Hubbs. James is also survived by 4 brothers; Mark Lacey, Paul Lacey, Michael Lacey, Brian Lacey and 1 sister Elaine Havern. James was preceded in death by his wife, Eva Lacey; father, Thomas Lacey; 1 sister, Mary Jo Lacey; and 1 brother, Thomas Lacey. There will be a visitation on Friday, September 7th, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at A.L. Moore-Grimshaw Mortuary, 710 W Bethany Home Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85013. Services will be held on Saturday, September 8th, 2018 at 9:00 AM at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church, 3424 N. 18th Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85015. Burial will follow at West Resthaven Park Mortuary and Cemetery, 6450 W Northern Avenue, Glendale, AZ 85302.
