

He is survived by daughters Tawana Tuggle, Melanie Miller (Clarence), and Twila Apol (Tim); Grandchildren Lisa Hoobler (Tom), Rebecca Cooper (Kevin Montanaro), Tasha Liddle (Jason), Nicole Moure’ (Edward), Jake Wolfe (Staysha), Jennifer Tuggle, Tisha Ferguson (Gary), Dave Tuggle, Abe Miller (Lisa), Wade Miller, Amanda Miller, Lucas Apol (Mariah Frey), Jase Apol and Christianna Apol; Great Grand Children Brittany, Ashley, Alyssa and Brian Ferguson; Jackson, Annie, and Willy Hoobler; Adam, Mathew and Michael Miller; Jaden and Janzen Tuggle; Ben, Edward, and Evelyn Moure’; Nevaeh Dickinson; Jameson and Mia Liddle; and Gavin Wolfe. A Special Niece Phyllis Rokus, as well as many treasured Nieces and Nephews and Grand Nieces and Nephews in Arizona, Arkansas, California, and the Turners of Michigan. JD is also survived by two dear sister-in-laws, Patty Pruett and Carolyn Simpson. JD was predeceased by his loving wife Anna, son Dave Tuggle, and granddaughter Brandi Burris and 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
JD was a devoted member of the Sun City West Church of Christ where he was a hero and partner to many. He made many lasting, loving relationships with his Brothers and Sisters in Christ.
JD was an Army Veteran of the Korean War, enlisting at the age of 17. He married Anna Mae Simpson in 1951, and in 1958 JD and Anna, with their 4 children, moved to Arizona where JD started his career in concrete construction industry. JD founded Tuggle Concrete in 1976 and retiring in 1989, moved to Durango, Colorado and then Harrison, Arkansas. In 2003 JD and Anna returned to Arizona to reconnect with the roots they had planted there, and to lovingly live out the remainder of their days. JD had many passions: first and foremost was his Christian Faith; following that he enjoyed raising horses, camping, fishing, hunting, and also playing his guitar and singing. To his family, friends and colleagues, JD was ever the prime example of honesty, loyalty and a true heart. He made time for everyone in his life, and was alway present with compassion and caring. JD loved to travel and experience the culture and history of places both new and familiar. Until his last days, he was always up for a good road trip. JD Tuggle was truly an exemplary soul, and he will live on, treasured always in the hearts and minds of all who knew and loved him.
A visitation for James will be held Friday, December 15, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Phoenix Memorial Park and Mortuary, 200 West Beardsley Road, Phoenix, AZ 85027. A funeral service will occur Friday, December 15, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, 200 West Beardsley Road, Phoenix, AZ 85027. A committal service will occur Friday, December 15, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 200 West Beardsley Road, Phoenix, AZ 85027.
