James Bernard Urey

He is survived by his three daughters: Donna Weschitz, Karen Zapico, and Maryanne Mills; his brother, Mike Sietz; nine grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and one unborn great-great-grandchild. 

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara Anne Urey with whom he shared 61 blissful years of marriage, on June 26, 2021. 

James proudly served in the United States Navy from 1953 to 1957, traveling the world to places such as Italy, France, Jamaica, and Greenland. His time in the service was a source of pride and adventure that he fondly remembered throughout his life. 

He enjoyed playing games with his family, photography, and building things with his hands. Jim was known for his kindness, thoughtfulness, and generosity - qualities that defined his relationships and left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. 

A private service will be held to honor his life and legacy. 

In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to a charity of your choice in his memory.
