Jeanene Faye Roberts, 77, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away June 29, 2017, after battling cancer for nearly ten years. She was born December 4, 1939, in Sioux City, Iowa, to the late Fay E. and Wilhelmina G. Roberts who in 1956 moved their family to Phoenix where Jeanene spent the rest of her life. Most of her high school years were at Central High School in Sioux City but she graduated from North High School in Phoenix in 1958. After graduation, Jeanene became an airline stewardess for Bonanza Airlines and later became a travel agent with Creative Travel in Phoenix and loved traveling the world with her career.
A beautiful, athletic and energetic woman, Jeanene enjoyed skiing, swimming, windsailing, tennis, golf and the many raft trips down the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon with her former husband and friends. She was devoted to her family and the many friends she made wherever she went.
Jeanene was predeceased by her parents, her sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Ted Meng of Tempe, and her brother David Roberts of Morgan Hill, California. She is survived by her younger brother, Fay D. Roberts (Anne) of Phoenix, and several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews who live in Phoenix and Mesa.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society. The family thanks the physicians and nurses at Ironwood Cancer & Research Center in Chandler, and the caregivers of Visiting Angels for their loving care for Jeanene.
