Jeannette “Jan” Marie McReynolds, a devoted mother, grandmother, and great friend to all, died peacefully at her home in Chandler, AZ on April 28th, 2021 at the age of 73.

She was Born on August 20th, 1947 in Omaha, NE; the second of four children of Stanley and Bernice Labedz.

Jan was a student of St. Stanislaus Parish and Mercy High School. She attended Creighton University where she met her husband, Tim McReynolds. Together, they raised four children.

When she was not managing her busy household, she worked as an Office Manager at Koley Jessen, P.C. and later as a key member of Omega Computer Software Systems.

Jan enjoyed golfing, traveling, playing bridge and cooking for friends and family. Jan took great pride in her South Omaha Polish heritage and loved to prepare traditional Polish cuisine for holiday gatherings.

Spirited, funny, Jan would be the life of the party. Generous, loving, caring and empathetic, she would offer her shoulder to cry on. These characteristic traits were only intensified when Jan became a grandmother. Known as “Grammy J” to her grandchildren, she always made time to make them feel special and she was determined to create lasting memories for each and every one.

Jan will be lovingly remembered by her children, Amy Barry of Omaha, T.J. McReynolds of Omaha, Michaela (Terry Smith) of Chandler, AZ and Sean McReynolds (Sally) of Norwell, MA; grandchildren, Joyce Harrell; Jackson and Emma Barry; Symone, Amarie, JR., Micah and Bobby Smith; and Molly, Jimmy, Marty and Jack McReynolds; siblings Antoinette “Toni” Lenagh and Francis “Frank” Labedz; and numerous other family members and friends.

Jan was predeceased by her parents; sister, Theresa “Terry” Labedz; Tim McReynolds; and infant children, Angela Marie and Brian Patrick.

A celebration of Jan’s life will be held on Sunday, June 27th, 2021 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Field Club of Omaha, 3615 Woolworth Avenue; Omaha NE 68105. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Jan’s honor to the United Cerebral Palsy Foundation, Williams Syndrome Association (Team Blue Lobster), or the Nebraska Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired.
