Jennie E. Piccarreta

During WWII, she enlisted in the Women’s Army Corps (WAAC) and served her country stateside. After the war, she married Carl Piccarreta in July of 1946. They raised their five sons in Irondequoit, NY and moved to Phoenix, AZ after Carl retired.

She enjoyed cooking wonderful southern Italian meals for family and friends into her 90’s. People have often remarked that one of her meals was the best meal of their life. After retirement, Jennie and her husband "Charlie" traveled all over the world.

Jennie is survived by her sons Michael (Marie), Raymond (Anita), Louis (Lisa), Carl (Grace), John (Nancy); grandchildren Ben, Eli, Carl, Geofrey (Lacey), Nicholas (April), Jennie, Danielle, Carrie; step-grandchildren Andrea, Roxanne (Ron) Wood, Gianna Bounassi, Dominic Gentile; step-great-grandchildren Joey Kinsey, Katie Lovell, Analysa and Dominic Wood; sister Honey Oliva and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held graveside at 10:00 A.M., on Tuesday September 2nd 2014 at the Veterans National Memorial Cemetery, 23029 North Cave Creek Road in Phoenix.
