Jerry O'Neal Johnson

Jerry O'Neal Johnson, 88, was born on January 21, 1938 in Columbia, Tennessee. He passed away on May 31, 2026. Jerry built a life marked by steady devotion to family, faithful service to his community, and a thoughtful, kind-hearted way of moving through the world. He resided in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Jerry graduated from Howard High School and later attended Middle Tennessee State University. His hard-working spirit and generous nature were evident throughout his life, expressed not in grand display but in the consistent care he showed to others and the responsibility he carried with quiet pride.

In his professional life, Jerry served as Vice President of Walters Management Company. Those who worked alongside him knew a man who approached his work with diligence and integrity—selfless with his time, considerate in his leadership, and compassionate in the way he treated people.

On August 17, 1973, Jerry married Sherri Overturf in Atlanta, Georgia. Together they shared a life grounded in commitment and enduring love, strengthened by Jerry’s faithful heart and his steady presence.

He had a passion for all sports, with baseball holding a special place, and he was a devoted Atlanta Braves fan. Jerry is survived by his wife, Sherri; daughter, Tami (Mike) Joyner; sons, Timothy (Rose) Johnson and Jeffrey (Katrina) Johnson; grandchildren, Brent (Vanessa) Johnson, Brittany (Nate) Newbold, Chelsey (Dave) Sweazen, Chase (Hayley) and Chaney (Jason) Surzyn; and great-grandchildren, Scarlett, Elsie, Lydia, Emery, Emmett, Jax, Sadie, Callum, and Nolan.
