Jerry passed away on August 26, 2023. He was 85 years old. Jerry was born on June 11, 1938 in Kansas City, Missouri to the parents of Joseph Edwin and Evelyn Ruth Sheets. Jerry is survived by his wife Diane, brother Terry and two daughters, Jenny Gendreau (Wade) and Julie Medlin (Adam).
Jerry has four grandchildren: Alexandria, Lauren, Hayden, Briden, and three adopted grandchildren: Cameron, Carsen, and Carlee. He also has four great grandchildren with number five due in October.
Jerry recently celebrated 19 years of volunteer service with the City of Peoria Police Department. In honor of Jerry, a flag will be flown half-staff at their headquarters. Prior to retirement, Jerry worked for Mountain Bell (CenturyLink) Phone Company. He was an avid speed-boat enthusiast, with amazing slalom skiing talents! Jerry, along with his wife Diane, participated in numerous organizations including The Phoenix Symphony Friends and AZ Boat Club.
This beloved man will be greatly missed by his family, coworkers and friends. At this time no formal service is planned, but a “Celebration of Life” will be held in October.
