Our dad, Jim, passed away on May 13, 2026. Born September 25, 1948, he had been in and out of hospitals and skilled nursing facilities since January following a long illness. Our hearts are full knowing he is now with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Jim came to this country with a dream to make his mark on the world. He loved the United States but never forgot his roots—he remained a proud Macedonian forever. He met his future wife, Lynn, at a church function, and they quickly fell in love. They were engaged and married in 1970. They raised their family in Northwest Indiana, where Jim worked as a team leader at U.S. Steel for 25 years while also building custom homes for over 20 years. In 1999, he retired and moved the whole family to sunny Arizona. He continued working as a handyman and fixer until the very end.
Jim was always willing to help anyone—family, friends, or neighbors. He had a kind, loving, and generous heart.
Jim is survived by his daughter MaryLynn (Jason), son Robert (Cassie), grandchildren Brianna (Ryan), Robby, Madelyn (Adan), Madison, and Dylan, five great-grandchildren, and many cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 48 years, Lynn, his parents Todor and Bozana, his sister Donna, his brother Blagoj, and many other dear family members and friends.
Viewing will be held at 9:00 a.m. on 5/18/2026 at Phoenix Memorial Park and Mortuary.
Funeral service officiated by Very Rev. Stevan Gagich will begin at 11:00 a.m., with burial to follow at 12:00 p.m.
