Joe Elias

Elias, Joseph December 15, 1931-October 25, 2014. After a courageuos year battle with cancer, Joe passed away peacefully at his home in Phoenix, Arizona with family by his side. Joe was born in Ray, AZ. He was the founder and owner of Don Jose Mexican food resturant in Phoenix for 43 years. Joe was one of seven children born to the late Richard and Edna Elias. Joe is survived by his wife Margaret Elias of 62 years, his loving sister Sally Romley, his seven children Diane Utley (Bruce), Patti DaVee (Tom), Cathy Garrett (Corey), Peggy Shields, Susie Cotter (Jimmy), Joe Elias, and Marla Elias, his eighteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, along with countless friends and family whom were blessed to know him. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his four brothers. Joe loves to fish, hunt, garden, and spend time at his cabin in Forest Lake, Arizona. Joe touched the lives of many people with his smile and maintained his trademark sense of humor all the way to the end. Friends and family are invited to attend services at AL Moore Grimshaw Mortuary, 710 W Bethany Home Road, Phoenix, AZ 85013. Visitation will be Thursday, October 30 from 5-7 PM.
