

Joe Wong passed away on February 25, 2018 at the age of 71. He began his life on November 22, 1946 in Oakland, CA. At a young age, his family moved to Arizona and settled in the central Phoenix area. While working on his GED, Joe enlisted in the U.S. Army and upon completing his service, returned back to Phoenix where he decided Arizona was the place to settle down. Joe enrolled in Phoenix College and shortly after graduating, he met his bride to be. They decided to move to the Maryvale neighborhood where they would raise a family. While raising their family, he worked his entire career for the US Postal Service, retiring after 30 years. After retiring, Joe enjoyed gardening, listening to his music from his days as a DJ in college, and had a passion for cooking. Joe enjoyed retirement and will be remembered by all for his witty and frank humor, and strong work ethics.
Joe is survived by his wife Nancy of 46 years, and their two daughters, Julie and Lisa, and granddaughter Jasmine.
Services for Joe Wong will be held Saturday March 10, 2018 at Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery on 2300 West Van Buren, Phoenix, Arizona. Pre-service viewing will begin at 12:00pm at the Serenity Chapel followed by burial. A celebration of Joe's life will immediately follow at the Great Wall Restaurant.
