John Henry Brumhall II, age 76, of Phoenix, passed away on Monday, November 26, 2018 at his residence. He was born on October 31, 1942 to the late Richard and Ruth Brumhall in Los Angeles, CA. Following high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy and proudly served for four years as an Air Traffic Controller. He was commended for averting an A-4 gear up landing in 1965. John then attended the University of Texas - Arlington obtaining a Bachelor’s degree. He worked in Finance for Motorola Semiconductor Products Sector until his retirement. After retirement he was a guide for Wild West Jeep Tours. He enjoyed sharing his love of the Arizona desert with visitors. John was a long-standing member of Scottsdale Bible Church. He served as an usher with the church for many years. In his spare time he could be found hiking, skiing, golfing, and spending time with his family and friends. John will be remembered for his kindness, quick wit, sense of humor, and optimism. John is survived by his wife, Sandy Kaintz; two daughters, Beth Brumhall (Todd Brown) and Susan (Adam) Bargar; two step-sons, Clayton and Darin Kaintz; two siblings, Janet (Larry) Smedley and James Brumhall; five grandchildren; and many other loving family members and friends.
