

John M. Carson, Jr., went to join his mom and dad in heaven on February 11th, 2013. He was born on July 29th, 1919 in Fort Worth Texas. John was a member of the 63rd armed infantry battalion during WW II. He was a P.M. of Masonic Lodge post #29 for 49 years. A member of Scottish Rite. Was a member of IATSE Local 336 as a gold card and was treasurer for 30 years. He was also a member of Stars of Paradise Eastern Stars #56. John was a professional entertainer starting at age 13. He did a roller skating act with his sister Dorothy before bringing in Paul Smidt to form a trio retiring their act in 1960. At that time, he went to a circus becoming a ring master. Retiring in 1970 when he joined the Stage Hands Union. He is survived by his wife Jean, four daughters, Linda Sullivan (Tom), Laura Liggett, Cindy McCallum, Debbie Church (Phil) his granddaughter/daughter Mindy Larimer (Jim) and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, Sister Dorothy Smidt, nephew Jim Smidt (Jeanette). Also surviving him are 2 grand nieces, 2 great grandnieces and 1 great grandnephew. A visitation will be 5:00-8:00 P.M., Thursday, February 14th at Shadow Mountain Mortuary, 2350 E. Greenway Rd. in Phoenix. A viewing will be held from 10:00 -11:00 A.M., Friday, February 15th at Shadow Mountain Mortuary with a funeral starting at 11:00 A.M.
