John “Jack” R. Dyer, age 89, was called home February 26, 2020. He was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on September 22, 1930. Jack was a Marine and served in the Korean War. He retired from RE Cornwell as a Property Maintenance Supervisor in 1993. Jack had a contagious smile. He knew how to interact with anyone and make them smile. He had the kind of personality that lit up a room. He always knew how to get others to laugh. He pointed out the bright side of anything and carried such a positive spirit throughout his life. Jack loved spending time with his longtime childhood friend Roland. He enjoyed wooden boat shows, paddle boating, Bluegrass music, maintaining his garden, traveling the United States, and taking long walks. He is survived by his five children: Loryce Dyer-Morrison (husband Jim Morrison), Diane Dyer, Gayle Dyer, Nancy Dyer-Hoffius, Jack Dyer; eleven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and siblings: Dorothy Glashaw, Alfred Dyer and Helen Dowd. Jack’s brothers, James & Jerry preceded him in death.
