John was born in Greece on August 6, 1920, and his family moved to Chicago when he was a child. John enlisted in the Marines in 1942, trained as a paratrooper, and served in the South Pacific during WW II. He was awarded the Purple Heart for his service, and always maintained a strong devotion to the Marine Corps.
John is survived by his wife of 71 years, June Erotas, and their three children, John Erotas, David Erotas and Wendy Cummiskey, five grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
A memorial service and reception will be held at A.L. Moore - Grimshaw Mortuary, 710 West Bethany Home Road, in Phoenix, on Friday, September 28th, at 10:00 a.m.. John will be inurned at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in North Phoenix at 2:30 p.m.
