John Perkins Killebrew, 91, born May 7, 1920, in Palmersville, Tn, passed away March 11, 2012 in Phoenix, AZ with his loving wife of 70 years, Flora by his side. A WWII army veteran, John served in the South Pacific. He moved to Phoenix with his wife and children in 1951. John was an avid outdoorsman and gardener. He raised award winning fruits, vegetables, and roses, and enjoyed spending time on their property north of Payson where he planted a beautiful apple orchard. John was employed with and retired from the Bell System after 44 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Phoenix and active on church committees. John was a devoted and loved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by his wife and daughters, Wanda Weber Porter and Kaye McArdle, six grandchildren (Kevin Weber, Lance Weber, Marty Weber, Bryan Weber, Karie McArdle Dilley and James McArdle), and 15 great-grandchildren (Justin, Zac, Molly, Leah, Michael, Hayden, Allison, Natalie,Vanessa, Dylon, Landon, Madison Weber, and Devin, Cole and Dustin Dilley. A son, John Thomas Killebrew, predeceased his father in 2005. Graveside services wil be held at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd. Phoenix, AZ on Friday, March 16, 2012 at 1:00 PM.
