John “Jack” Alexander Petellin Jr., age 88, passed away on Monday, September 14, 2020 at his residence in Phoenix, Arizona. He was born on June 27, 1932 to the late John A. and Katherine (Olson) Petellin Sr. in Seattle, WA. Jack attended Tahoma High School in Maple Valley, WA graduating class of 1950 (approximate); then furthered his education at the University of Washington where he studied art. He was a proud member of the United States Air Force. In July of 1987 he married Lynda Pina in Maui, Hawaii. Jack worked as a commercial airline pilot for United Airlines. He enjoyed drawing and painting and was a very talented artist as well as budding author. Jack is survived by his loving spouse of 33 years, Lynda; three children, Michael Petellin and wife Marion, their children Madeline, Meredith, Margaret, and Mitchell, Kurt Petellin and wife Susie, and their children Danielle, Austin, Conner, and Cody, Maria Petellin Allen and husband Tom and their children Emily and Eva. Sister, Joanne Ross (Petellin) and her husband David of Marysville, WA; step-daughters, Jennifer Erickson (Husband Ty and their children Ashley and Troy) and Annette Gorremans-Kirby (Husband Tim and her children Candi, Niqui, and Lexi) and many other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, John Petellin Sr; mother, Katherine Petellin; and sister, Eleanor Cartwright. Visitation will be from 4 pm to 8 pm on Monday September 21st, 2020 including Rosary at 6 pm at Shadow Mountain Mortuary, 2350 E. Greenway Road, Phoenix, AZ 85022. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday September 22, 2020, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 3801 E. Greenway Road, Phoenix, AZ 85032 with the Committal Service with Military Honors to follow at 12:30 pm at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ 85024.
