Joseph Raidan Lane, better known as JoJo to his beloved family and friends, was born in El Paso, TX on April 12, 2002 to Danielle Marie Nelson and Jonathan Patrick Lane. He came into this world expressing himself vocally and, as he grew, his infectious laugh and silly grin brought peace and comfort wherever he went. JoJo was a kind and genuine soul that would do anything he could to make someone feel loved and accepted. He felt things deeply and truly, and when he said, “I love you”, it came from his heart. To know him was to experience unconditional love. Friends became family to him, and he was an instant light in any dark room. His caring nature was evident in the love he had for animals, especially his doggos: Bolt, Lucy and Odin. Jojo and his sweet Siberian Husky, Bolt, grew up together. Bolt preceded him in death earlier this year. He enjoyed snuggling with the foster puppies his mom brought home before leaving off to college. He was a 2020 high school graduate and had just begun living out his dream at Universal Technical Institute in Phoenix, AZ, to become an Automotive Tech with a specialty in Volvo cars. His dream was to someday build race cars others could only imagine. Becoming an adult, going off to college on his own, and learning how to navigate in this great big world excited him and made him want to make a name for himself. JoJo had a passion for skateboarding, playing the violin, writing poetry and lyrics to turn into music, and reading dystopian fiction such as The Hunger Games Trilogy, the I Am Number 4 Series, the Divergent Series and The Maze Runner, just a few of his favorites from his huge book collection. He was a Life Scout, a member of the Order of the Arrow and spent a summer at Camp Rainey Mountain in North Georgia as a Camp Counselor. His musical tastes were broad and ranged from Lindsey Stirling to Eminem, and he even tolerated 90’s Alternative Radio when he was stuck in the car with his mom. He enjoyed analyzing the lyrics and breaking them down to understand the meaning behind them. He used them to create his own lyrics and enjoyed rapping to a broad audience on Instagram. JoJo was preceded in death by his infant sister Allyson Chevelle-Marie Lane and always felt he was missing a piece of himself without her. He longed to have his sister by his side to walk with him on this earth. It gives us some sense of peace knowing that JoJo and his sister Ally are together again, watching over us and being our guardian angels. His generous and caring spirit will continue to live on in the lives of those who received his tissue and cornea donations. He would have been so proud to know that he has been able to make a real and lasting difference in this world and will benefit others who will no doubt be grateful to him forever. JoJo’s memory will be forever cherished by his beloved family: dad, Jonathan; mom, Danielle; stepdad, Carl; brother and sister Joshua and Lillian; and numerous grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and the many close friends he made throughout his life.

I remember when Jojo and I would drive around town without a care in the world and we would just talk about some deep topics and it would always end with both of us mentioning that we have to go do some chores. He enjoyed my company as I did his, and we'd play music together whenever we got the chance.
I'm sad he's gone, but i find comfort that he's up there, just waiting for one of his bestfriends to join him in harmony one day.

Oh our JoJo. Words cannot express how devastated we are. You were a shining light full of fun when you came to visit us in El Paso along with your Cuz Jes and Josh. You surprised me on Mother’s Day! I cried because it was such a heartfelt moment! Then I noticed you standing behind Jon. I asked Jes who you were! Jes said that’s JoJo! Talk about a pleasant surprise! I cried, I hugged, I laughed . My boys were all with me! You were always smiling and giggling with your heart of gold. We will miss you JoJo. Your genuine heart will always be with me. Love you💕💕

Jojo was an amazing kid. He was always so full of laughter and always had this goofy smile. My best memory was when I mentioned I didn't know how to ride a bike, and he immediately yelled and ran inside to get the bike. And lemme tell ya, I was falling everywhere and he was behind me screaming "for the love of all that is HOLY! PEDAL SAM PEDAAAAL!!!" We received many many odd looks of seeing a woman trying to pedal and joio running after me. I love you so much jojo, you gave me more memories than that, I will cherish them. I love you!

Oh Jojo, I can’t even imagine a world without you. Our Adventures will never be the same. Some of my favorite memories are hanging out with you and Austin. There were many Scout adventures, plenty of movies and lots of Saturday Kids Nights at the Y. And so much fun! Your beautiful smile will be close to my heart always. Thank you for being a part of our lives. We’ll see you again one day.

Jojo wasn't your average young man. He was driven by many things and recovered from so much throughout his life and defined what it means to have strength. Having him as an employee changed quickly to having him as a friend. A brother. We confided in each other a lot through many things. We caught up with each other often after moving to Arizona. I wished the best for him and his journey to his dream job. Now I can only wish I was able to hear from him again.. he's in a better place now and doesn't have to hurt anymore..but I wish he was still here to grow into the great gentleman he was meant to be. Jojo will be able to watch over us now.. I miss you brother..

Jojo, was the most kind hearted young man anyone could encounter in life. He had a live for cars, shared by his cousin Joshua, my son. We came down from Tennessee to visit. Those two were inseparable, their laughter was infectious. Since then we all talked almost daily thru the internet. I spent a whole day with him just before he went back to Georgia, before his schooling. We ate pizza, he drove me around, we had so much fun! He told me "I love you uncle Jesse", as we hugged. I cried afterwards knowing my nephew was growing up and going on his own. Tears of joy. I told him I love him too. I do. I know just beyond my headlights ill have an angel on my side!
