I will always treasure the memories of Joyce as she and John would come walking into the church foyer on Sunday mornings.  My husband was their former pastor for many years, and what a wonderful couple they were.  I was always impressed by their loving words and relationship to each other, which was extended to the congregation and all of their friends.  I will so miss seeing Joyce brightening the foyer with her most pleasant "Hi, Marge!", and special way of greeting us all.  Her Lord radiated from her face, and contentment of His grace in her heart.  She had a way of making everyone feel at home with her, through her kindness and sweet spirit. May Christ comfort the family deeply and pour extra mercy upon her dear husband, John.  Until we meet you again, beloved Joyce!

Joyce Harrison was a very kind and understanding person who had absolutely no jealousy, envy or malice in her person.  She was a pleasant friend and neighbor,  with her happy personality and cheerful smile and welcoming attitude toward others.  Many years ago I was going to nursing school and my seven year old daughter caught the chicken pox. Students weren't allowed to miss a day of school and I had no one to care for my child. Joyce stepped up and offered to take care of her while I went to school, even though her girls had not yet had the chicken pox. Her girls did become ill and she said "they'd have gotten the chicken pox anyhow, eventually."  Not every mother would have viewed the situation so kindly.
   She found something to appreciate every day and always looked at the good side of situations and people.
   She loved animals and had dogs and hamsters. One year she and the family went to Washington and I cared for her pets. The hamsters got out of their area and were never seen again. I have no idea how that happened, but I received no harsh words from Joyce. She brought us the most beautiful big apples from Washington.
   She had a yellow volvo station wagon that seemed to deliberately cause all kinds of problems for her.  Eventually, all on its own, it caught on fire...  so she no longer had to deal with the errant vehicle.
   Joyce Harrison was one of a kind and will be sorely missed.
