

She was born in David, Mangaldan, Pangasinan, Philippines on May 23, 1944 to parents Rufo Villena and Maria Soledad Villena. She was one of 8 children. She grew up in David, Mangaldan where she attended elementary school. After finishing elementary, Juana went to Dagupan City to continue her studies. She attended Bonuan High School where she was crowned Miss Bonuan High School in 1963. She was courageous, devoted, and dedicated to finish college at the University of Pangasinan. The Glee Club granted her a scholarship, which helped her earn a degree in Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education.
After graduating college, Juana went on to teach in primary school at David Elementary. She was promoted to Master Teacher 1 before she retired in 1990. Then she moved to Phoenix, Arizona to be with her husband after being separated for a few years. She worked as a production worker at MasterCraft until she retired at age 65. Juana enjoyed her travels back home to the Philippines and Europe. She favored Madrid, Spain over Paris, France because she encountered a lot of nicer people and a cleaner city.
Madam Cuison was a very strong and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and respected teacher. She married Perpetuo B. Cuison on April 24, 1967. They were married for 53 years and had 12 children. She loved cooking for everybody, especially for her grandchildren. She loved gardening. Gumamela, peppers, tomatoes, kamote, and saluyot were some of her favorites to plant. Her favorite color was sky blue and favorite flower was the orange rose.
Juana spent her final years caring for her husband and grandchildren. She was mysterious, tenacious and somewhat misunderstood. Nonetheless, she was kind, hospitable, big-hearted and loving in her own way. Juana was a beautiful human being who wanted everyone to learn how to forgive, respect, love, and be kind to one another.
She is survived by her children—Lucy, Yolanda, Darwin, Julius, Dick, Pete, Glen, Hetty, Pia, Noemi, and Angeli. Grandchildren-- Cedric, Judy, JJ, JD, Briana, Hunter, Gunner, Nayeli, Judea, Marife, Kimberly, Kamille, Mia, Lauren, Junior, Madison, Amaris, Eithan, Louna, and Amelia. Great-grandchildren-- Zadie, Zayla, Marc Joehann, Whitley, and Halen Carter.
