

Judy was born on October 18, 1946, in Borger, Texas. She graduated from Borger High School in 1965 and later made her home in Midland, Texas, where she lived for 32 years. Judy devoted many years of her professional life to Oxy Petroleum, from which she retired in 2009.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Elbert Haynes and Mattie Mae Parks Haynes; her sister, Robbie Lee Haynes Fleck; her brothers, Weldon Carl “Bud” Haynes, Robert Elbert Haynes Jr., and Richard Don Haynes; and her stepson, Scotty Allen Browning.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 44 years, Bill Ray Browning, with whom she shared a deep and abiding love and companionship. She is also survived by her children: Deborah Lee Anderson Griese and her husband, Martin Leo Griese; Johnny Powers Anderson; and Steven Robert Anderson and his wife, Sylvanna Lena Anderson. She is further survived by her stepson, Billy Ray Browning Jr. and his wife, Vicky Browning, and Scotty’s wife Pam Browning.
Judy was a proud and loving grandmother to eleven grandchildren: Jacob Martin Griese and his wife, Gabriela Paez Griese; Katherine Rose Griese; Sophia Lauria Anderson; Grant Browning; Jade Tidwell; Jamie Tidwell; Caitlyn Browning; Breanden Browning; Paige Browning; and Paxton Browning. She also cherished the love of her extended family, including her nephews and nieces: Cary Mike Fleck and his wife, Cathy; Danny Haynes and his wife, Pat; Toby Haynes and his wife, Sheryl; Tanya Haynes Millard and her husband, Drew; Kimberly Haynes Davis and her husband, John; as well as many great-nephews and great-nieces and some very special cousins.
A woman of strong faith, Judy loved the Lord and faithfully served her church and community. She spent many years teaching Sunday school and participating in Methodist Youth Fellowship while her children were young. She and her husband were longtime members of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church.
Judy will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, aunt, cousin, and grandmother who found great joy in her family. She had a gift for connecting with others and never met a stranger. She loved researching her ancestry and uncovering the rich stories of her family history which led her to become a member of the Lt. William Brewer Chapter of National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She also found joy in dancing, cooking, and spending time visiting with others.
Her warmth, kindness, and enduring faith will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Judy is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. at St. Luke’s Methodist Church in Midland on June 13th.
