Karen Rae Boutchyard was born on December 18 th,1939 in Minneapolis, MN to Robert and Florence Blix. She was raised in Chicago and became the youngest to earn a scholarship from the Chicago Art Institute at only 13 years old. She moved to Phoenix, AZ and completed a couple years of college at ASU. She had a great love of animals and worked for a veterinarian and rode horses with her brother, Robert. She married Leslie Cook and had a daughter, Rebecca Cook-Jones. Unfortunately, her marriage ended in divorce and she became a dog groomer. She married Mac Boutchyard and gained the love of his two wonderful daughters, Kathie Osten and Deena Nunemaker. Karen was so happy to babysit and spoil her grandchildren, (Lawrence Nunemaker, jr, Ashlee Nunemaker, Taylor Osten, Samantha Jones and Jeremy Jones). Her greatest joy was her family and her ability to help everybody to achieve their goals in love and success. For example, she helped her daughter, Rebecca, become a doctor. She also helped her grandson, Jeremy, become a dancer with a wonderful studio. Her husband Mac passed away in 2007, but she still maintained the family. She is also survived by two great grandchildren, Sydney and Kohen Nunemaker, and her loving son-in-laws, (Larry Nunemaker, Paul Osten and Brian Jones). She passed on April 26 th. In many ways, she cared for others more
than herself. May the soul of this wonderful person live on in peace.rangements under the direction of Shadow Mountain Mortuary, Phoenix, AZ.
