Katherine M. Puett, age 92, of Sun City, passed away on Sunday, March 4, 2018. She was born on August 6, 1925 to George William VonArb and Iva Vonarb in Kansas City, Missouri. Katherine worked many years for the Department of Labor and HUD before retiring. She was married to Leonard Scott Woodward in Florida where Scott was a military Pilot. After serving in World War II and the Korean Conflict, Scott’s plane crashed in the Pacific Ocean. His body was never recovered. Katherine subsequently married Uel E. Puett in 1954 in Kansas City, Missouri. Upon moving to Arizona, she enjoyed working as a volunteer with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Posse. Katherine is survived by her three loving children, Pam Unternaehrer, Ronald C. Puett, and Donald E. Puett; and a grandchild, Eryn G. Puett. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 am on Sunday, April 8, 2018 in San Diego, where her ashes will be dispersed at sea five miles off Point Loma. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Katherine’s honor may be made to the Paralyzed Veterans of America. www.pva.org
