Kayla "Kayy Joii" Joi Foster

Kayla was blessed to grow up in a loving blended family. She attended school in Phoenix, graduated from high school, and continued her education, completing many years of higher education as she pursued her many interests and dreams.

Kayla was a bright, colorful, and fun-loving spirit. She loved writing and journaling, often filling her pages with the bright colors of the rainbow. She was also writing a book about her own life, hoping that her experiences could help others. She had a heart for people and a desire to make a difference.

She had many talents and explored many different careers throughout her life. Kayla worked as a nail technician, in banking and customer service, in restaurant service, and studied medical stenography. She especially loved the beauty industry and had a true passion for fashion. She also took great pride in her tattoos, each carrying special meaning.

Her tattoos told the story of the people she loved. On her left arm, she had a full sleeve featuring three lion cubs, representing her three brothers, Grayson, Ian, and Dean. Across her stomach was the word “Aloha,” honoring her beloved Grandma Betty and Grandpa Charlie and their connection to Hawaii. Even more meaningfully, ashes of her grandparents were incorporated into the ink of her tattoos, allowing their memory to remain a permanent part of her.

Kayla found comfort in the simple things she loved. Her favorite green frog was her nightly companion, bringing her comfort as she slept. She also treasured her brand-new pink Bible, which brought her strength, happiness, and many smiles.

Most recently, Kayla was baptized and embraced her faith with a renewed sense of purpose. She took the Lord and her faith seriously and was moving forward in her life with hope. Her family finds comfort in knowing that when heaven opened its doors, Kayla was welcomed into the loving hands of God, surrounded by the love she carried throughout her life.

Kayla was deeply loved by her family and friends. She had a special love for her aunt and her family, and there was hardly anyone who knew her who did not love her fun-loving spirit and the unique light she brought into their lives. She will be remembered for her colorful personality, creativity, love of beauty and fashion, her big heart, and her desire to use her own life experiences to help others.

Kayla is survived by her mother, Nancy; her father, Gregory; her brothers, Malik, Grayson, Ian, and Dean, her aunt Beverly, her nephew Juriah, and her step-mom Sophia. She will be lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
