While her family and friends are shocked by her death, they are thankful for her life. Kelli was a quiet soul who relished the simple pleasures of life. She was a caring and loving individual who embodied under valued traits such as simple kindness and empathy to all. She truly loved to help her family, friends and neighbors. Be it making and sharing a homemade meal, running errands that you didn’t have time for, or doing yard work for someone who couldn't do it for themselves, she was always finding ways to help. In this digital age, she continued to regularly mail cards, handwritten letters, and the occasional box of cookies to friends and family. Her thoughtfulness touched everyone.
Kelli was born to Roy and Bonnie Jacobson on June 21,1954 in Phoenix, Arizona. After graduating from Coronado High School, she worked at Motorola, until leaving the workforce to devote the next 20+ years of her life to raising her children, Christi and Joshua. When she returned to the workforce, she worked at Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort. She began as a Housekeeper and worked her way up to the Manager of Housekeeping before her retirement.
Nothing was more important to Kelli than her family. She was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them and their spouses, who she always treated as if they were her own. Whenever she had the chance, she loved getting to visit with her brother, sister-in-law, and nieces. One of the greatest joys in her life was being an amazing Grammy to Bella and Grace.
Kelli had a passion for gardening and kept a beautiful and whimsical yard. She loved to help her children with their yards and planted many flowers with her granddaughters over the years. She enjoyed hiking and running, exploring trails in both Phoenix and the White Mountains. Despite medical challenges, Kelli participated in 5k & 10k races and even completed a half marathon. Her home was always immaculate and festively decorated for every single holiday. She had a knack for house painting and used her skills to assist her children, family, and friends with their home painting projects. She did not mind cutting in along baseboards with her 2.5 inch brush.
Kelli was known for her delicious chocolate chip cookies, pumpkin pies, banana bread and tacos. One of her favorite pastimes was spending time with her granddaughters. From playing tag and baking cookies with Grace, to enjoying trips to Chili's and Bath & Body Works with Bella, she treasured every moment spent with them. She loved Coca-Cola, a good cheeseburger, pine trees, gnome and rooster home decor, buying tennis shoes, smiley faces, her little red car, Mickey Mouse, visiting the White Mountains, exercising with her music, going on a Santa walk on Christmas Eve, giving gifts, and cheering on her children and grandchildren in all of their endeavors.
Kelli is survived by her daughter, Christi, son, Joshua, son-in-law, Rick, daughter-in-law, Kim, and her granddaughters, Bella and Grace.
