Kenneth Sim Fong, 71, of Phoenix, Arizona passed away on July 6, 2020 due to covid-19. With his wife, Helen, of 43 years of marriage by his side, Ken gently departed from this world with Jesus, hand-in-hand.
Second youngest of six children born of Tong Young Fong and Sou Won Fong, Ken grew up in a family that valued commitment and hard-work. The family hotel and grocery store businesses helped to solidify these traits that would guide him into adulthood as he later provided and protected his own family of four.
Loyalty was another trait that Ken represented in his career where he worked for Arizona Public Service for a number of years before landing at the City of Phoenix Traffic Engineering Department for 32 years where he retired in 2010. He made many lasting friendships during his time in the Traffic Engineering Department.
As a grandfather, Ken was loving and generous to his three grandchildren, always bringing them hugs and gifts upon visiting. One of the fondest memories shared are the camping trips they took together, excitedly feeding peanuts to the squirrels and birds and watching them skitter around the campground.
Ken is survived by his wife, Helen; his two children, Paul and Jennifer; three grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Xavier, and Sienna; his five siblings, Mary, Sue, May, Pon, and Joe; and many nieces and nephews.
