I first met Kenny in the mid-1970s when he became the guitarist for the band I was in with his future wife Debbie.  I had the pleasure of touring with them both including trips to Greenland and around the Mediterranean as well as the southern United States.  Kenny always brought passion to his playing and was a joy to work with as was Debbie. Kenny and I also shared a quirky and sometimes dark sense of humor which almost got us into trouble a few times though we usually managed to scrape out of it. Later when I had moved back to Memphis, I caught up with Debbie and Kenny and renewed our friendship.  She and my wife became great friends and we have stayed in touch.

I was sorry to hear of his passing but he, as well as Debbie, will always have a place in our minds and hearts.  Whole lotta love from us both! Sydney and Tom Wilson

Friends are the family you choose for yourself and that's how I felt about Kenny. Working with him in the Silver Creek Band was truly an honor as his talent was immense - he is my guitar hero and he taught me so much.   His sense of humor will carry on especially when I think of the "stink eye" he would share with people in the band on occasion. Several months ago he said he wasn't going to give me the "stink eye" anymore.... then a few songs later when I played a chord that was less than perfect, here it came - the "stink eye!" Kenny, when are you going to quit giving me the "stink eye," I said.... his reply? When you stop doing that! Our thoughts and prayers go out to Kenny's wonderful wife, Debbie and his family. Kenny left us much too soon and both Tom and I are going to miss him. Heaven's band has a new star. Dagnabbit, Kenny. Much love, Margi & Tom Schultz
