Columbus, Ohio. He joined Team Eternity Thursday, July 2 nd in his home
surrounded by his loved ones after battling prostate and bone cancer.
He graduated from Dublin High School in Dublin, Ohio where he played
basketball and football. He graduated with his BA from the University of
Tampa after attending a year at his beloved Ohio State University. He was
a devoted Ohio State Buckeye Fan.
He met his wife Amy in 1999 and they were married in Prescott, Arizona in
2001. He was so proud of their 3 sons they had together. He was so
excited when he came into the Catholic church in 2012. He loved his faith
and was installed as a First Degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus
based at St. Gabriel’s Parish in Cave Creek, Arizona.
He and his wife Amy owned their own business for 16 years: HIS Lighting
which he installed low voltage landscape lighting on homes and
commercial properties in both Ohio and Arizona. Every job he installed
was for the greater glory of God.
He was truly happy playing outside in his gardens, enjoying nature, hiking,
biking, and playing basketball and football with his sons. He loved visiting
Sedona, AZ with all of its beauty and also walking the beach in Rocky
Point, Mexico.
Kim is survived by his father Thom Hammond and mother Sandy
Hammond, his step-mother Kris Hammond, his wife of 18 years Amy
Hammond, their 3 sons Lucas, Elijah and Joshua, many nieces and
nephews, aunts, uncles and Amy’s parents.
There will be a visitation and rosary at St. Gabriel’s Parish in Cave Creek
from 5:00 – 8:00 PM on Friday, July 10 th . A funeral mass will be at 10:00
AM on Saturday, July 11 th at St. Gabriel’s Parish, presided by Fr. David
Kulandaisamy. This will be live streamed on St. Gabriel’s YouTube
channel “St. Gabriel – Cave Creek, AZ Live Stream”.
The family wants to thank Annunciation Catholic School, St. Gabriel’s
Parish and Brophy College Preparatory communities for their love,
friendship and prayers during this difficult time. We were also blessed with
amazing doctors and nurses.

Kim Hammond’s visitation and funeral Mass are scheduled for Friday/Saturday, July 10 and 11.
Both will take place at St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church 32648 N. Cave Creek Road Cave Creek, AZ 85331.
Due to attendance restrictions, only 100 people beyond the family members will be allowed at any time.
