LaWave was born in WaKeeney, Kansas on January 22, 1935 to Calvin J. McColl and Myrtle E. McColl. LaWave later moved to Colorado with her parents, attended school and graduated from East High in 1953. After graduation LaWave married Theodore F. Speck on October 4, 1953, had 3 children - Nancy C. Speck, Nena M. Speck, and Gilbert D. Speck. LaWave continued to live and work in Colorado until 1984 in which she and Ted moved to Arizona.
LaWave was preceded in death by her parents Calvin and Myrtle McColl, her daughter Nancy, her grandson Devlyn, her great grandson Kalib, and her husband Theodore.
LaWave is survived by her daughter Nena and son Gilbert as well as 7 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 1 great great granddaughter.
Memorial service will be held February 10th with location to be finalized soon.
