Leonard "Len" Paul Koca, age 89, of Cave Creek, passed away suddenly on Thursday, June 28, 2018 in Scottsdale, AZ. He was born on August 23, 1928 to the late William and Minda (Stahnke) Koca in Chicago, IL. On March 20, 1954 he married Barbara Jean Anderson in Chicago, IL. He worked as a Stereotyper for the Chicago Sun Times until his retirement in 1991. Len was a proud member of the United States Army serving during the Korean Conflict from January 1951 to October 1952. He was a member of American Legion Post #34 in Cave Creek. Len enjoyed horses and was truly passionate about spending time with his family (especially his grandchildren), and friends. He is survived by his loving spouse of 64 years, Barbara; three children, Keith (Eileen) Koca, Kenneth Koca, and Susan (Dennis) Fuller; his brother, Donald J. (Kay) Koca; four grandchildren, SSgt USAF Matthew (Natasha) Fuller, Dylan Koca, Jonathan Fuller, Farrah Koca; a great grandchild, Rachel Reann Fuller; and many other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Kevin Koca. Len's Memorial Service will be at 10:30 am on Friday, August 17, 2018 at Shadow Mountain Mortuary, 2350 E. Greenway Road, Phoenix, AZ 85022; with the Committal Service with Military Honors to follow at 12:30 pm at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ 85024.
