Leslie Dean Meyerson passed away at home in Phoenix on April 9, 2023 after a long battle with Leukemia contracted due to exposure to Agent Orange while in Vietnam. Les was born August 29, 1949 in Brainerd, Minnesota, raised in Flint, Michigan and lived in Phoenix since 1975.
Les was preceded in death by his parents Norman and Erma. He is survived by his loving children Leif Norman (Danika) and Jenna Brie; grandchildren Alarik, Cylas, Eleanor, and Everett; brother Terry (Janet), sisters Vickie Swartz and Lana Ruch; and a host of cousins and friends.
Les was a proud US Army & Vietnam veteran, whose favorite holiday was Veterans Day. He was a consummate athlete, excelling at everything he tried: swimming & diving, bowling, pool, tennis, baseball, and golf. He spent his career as a heavy equipment operator for underground construction beginning in the family business in Flint and continuing in AZ for the rest of his career. He brought the same focus and skill to running a Trackhoe (he ran the largest one that Caterpillar makes) as he did to using a golf club, pool cue or baseball bat.
Les will be greatly missed by his family and friends alike. “Love created the memories we will always keep in our hearts.”
