

Lewis Edwin McHenry, age 95, went home to Jesus, January 20, 2016 at his home in Phoenix. He was born August 1, 1920 in Denver Colorado, son of Lewis and Louise McHenry. He was predeceased by his sister, Ruth McHenry Curry. Lewis served in the Army Signal Corps during WWII and worked for AT&T for 46 years. He loved photography, travel, growing roses, family and faith. He was a member of First Baptist Church, amateur radio relay league and telephone pioneers. Every Monday he would drink "Cowboy Coffee" and converse with his friends at the Respite Shelter for Homeless men, his way of continuing to serve the community. Lewis is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Doralee. He is also survived by his children Jan Etheridge (Richard), Jim McHenry (Mary), Jeff McHenry (Kris), and Joy Pool (Scott); grandchildren, Amy, Eric, John, Kyle, Heather, Kenny, Travis, Kevin, Sarah, and Sam; great-grandchildren, Madison, Matthew, Delilah, Garrett, Aurora, Austin, and Andrew. A memorial service will be held at Living Streams Church, at 1:00 PM on January 30, 2016. Memorials may be made to the Respite Shelter for Homeless men, Living Streams Church, 7000 N. Central, Phoenix, AZ 85020.
