

Linda Katherine Gill, 75, entered into Heaven, peacefully at home with her family by her side. Linda was born in Cicero, Indiana on February 27, 1949 to Carolyn Joann (Blanton) and Wayne L. Nightenhelser.
Linda spent her early years on her family’s farm and her love of animals continued throughout her life. Linda had a strong and deep love for horses, especially her beloved JoJo. Linda would even ride JoJo throughout her pregnancies.
In 1952, Linda and her family moved to Phoenix, Arizona where she attended Catlina Elementary School and graduated from Alhambra High School in 1968.
During her high school years, Linda met Joseph P. Gill at Glenfair Bowling Lanes in Glendale, AZ where her parents owned the café. From their marriage, they had four children: Steven, Joseph, Dawna, and Janell.
During her children’s early years, Linda was a stay-at-home mother while taking care of children for working parents. Linda took great pride in her job and became a second mother to many of these children. Childcare was Linda’s calling.
In the mid-1980s, Linda started her career with American Express, where she worked in accounts receivable. Linda proudly worked twenty-one years at American Express.
After retiring, Linda focused on her true passion of being Mom, Grandmother, and Gigi. In her free time, Linda loved her various animals including dogs, cats, birds, guinea pigs and even two potbelly pigs. Linda loved to share her crochet and baking talents with friends & family.
Linda is survived by her sister, Susan Harvey, children, Steven Gill (Jennifer), Joseph Gill (Danielle), Dawna Edwards (Michael), and Cesar Tarango. Grandchildren, Morgan Rizzute (John), Alyssa Tarango (Camerin Higginson), Bailey Tarango, Paetyn Molina, Ethan Edwards, Preston Edwards, and Tyler Gill. Her Great-Grandchildren, Jonathan Rizzute, Emery Tarango, and Jaxson Rizzute along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Carolyn & Wayne Nightenhelser, her brother, David Nightenhelser, her daughter, Janell Gill, and her grandchildren, Gabriel Tarango and Aspen Schroeder.
Linda loved her family and friends and took pride in their accomplishments and successes. She was kind, funny, and compassionate woman who will forever be missed.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to ASPCA Your Gift Could Save a Life | ASPCA Viewing and services will be held at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services – Maryvale, 6901 W. Indian School Road, on February 28th. The viewing will be from 10:30am – 11:30am with services starting at 11:30am.
A visitation for Linda will be held Friday, February 28, 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Advantage Funeral and Cremation Services Maryvale Chapel, 6901 West Indian School Road, Phoenix, AZ 85033, Officiating Kim Sterner, followed by a "tributes to linda" from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
