Lloyd George Whiteman

Lloyd aged 86, went to be with his wife, Ina and numerous other loving family members and friends on Sunday, September 11, 2011. Lloyd was born February 9th, 1925 in Advance, Boone Co., Indiana to Robert Bruce Whiteman and Rushie Florence (Bartlett) Whiteman. Lloyd was a WWII Navy veteran who liked to talk about old times with his friends at the Arizona State Veterans Home. He was a machinist mate in the navy which carried over into his civilian life. Lloyd was a machinist for Stewart Warner in Lebanon, Indiana for many years before moving to Arizona in 1964. IN Arizona he worked for Air Research-Garrett-Honeywell until his retirement. Lloyd was a very loving and devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather. Family was the most important thing in his life. He was always ready to listen or be there for anyone who needed him. We will miss his never ending smile and his twinkling baby blue eyes. Lloyd is survived by a son, Robert (Biddy) Whiteman, a daughter, Sheila (Daniel) Dennis, 2 sisters, Eliza Witt of Advance, IN And Betty (Wesley) Carroll of Terre Haute, IN, 2 sister-in-laws, Beverley McIntyre of Lebanon, IN and Pauline Rose of Indianapolis, IN, 4 grandchildren, Aaron Whiteman, Rebecca Dennis, Amanda Dennis and David Dennis, 2 great granddaughters, Sarah Mullins and Laila Dennis and numerous nieces and nephews. Lloyd was proceded in death by his parents and his loving wife, of 36 years, Ina (Rose) Whiteman, 2 brothers, Granville (Doris) Whiteman, Tom (Jean) Whiteman, 2 half brothers, Kiefer (Nellie) Whiteman and William Byron (Hazel) Whiteman. A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2011 from 9-11 with funeral service at 11:00 held at Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary, 719 N. 27th Ave in Phoenix. Pastor Gene Carroll officiating.
