Lorenzo Vela De La Garza

Larry was a gentle soul who embraced life with warmth, kindness, and generosity. A gifted musician, husband, father, and mentor to many, he was known for his quiet strength, compassionate heart, and unwavering willingness to help anyone in need. His love for animals reflected his tender nature, and his presence brought comfort and joy to all who knew him.

In 1977, alongside his wife, Peggy, they founded Trademark Landscape Companies in North Scottsdale. Together, they built a thriving business rooted in creativity, integrity, beauty and excellence. Their employees were more than colleagues - they were family. Larry's expertise and mentorship left a lasting impact on countless lives, and his legacy continues through those he guided and inspired.

Larry had a remarkable talent for working with his hands. Whether remodeling homes, repairing vehicles, trailers, or tractors, he approached every task with patience and precision. His ability to solve problems - big or small - was one of his most cherished gifts.

Born in Phoenix, Arizona, Larry was the fifth of nine children to Lorenzo and Manuela De La Garza. He is survived by his wife, Peggy De La Garza; his adored daughters, Mary Theresa De La Garza and Christina Michelle Slavin; three grandchildren, Lorenzo Michael Slavin, Jakob Michael Slavin, and Andrew Michael Slavin; two great-grandchildren, Lorenzo Jesus De La Garza and Brisas Ensino; and his surviving siblings, Eleasar Vela De La Garza, Angie Vela Luna, Anita Vela Zamorano, Sally Vela Lopez, and Robert Vela De La Garza. He mourned deeply the loss of his son, Lorenzo Mario De La Garza, and his grand-daughter, Nena Marie De La Garza, whose memories he carried in his heart.

Services to honor Larry's life will be held at Phoenix Memorial Park and Mortuary. All events will be held at 200 W Beardsley Road, Phoenix, Arizona, 85027.

Funeral Service: Saturday, October 11, 2025 from 10:00AM to 11:00AM

Committal Service: Saturday, October 11, 2025 from 11:00AM to 12:00PM
