Loretta Jean Morris

A Loving Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend, Loretta Jean Morris passed away on June 13, 2022 in Phoenix, Arizona at the age of 91. She was born on August 6, 1930 in North Tonawanda, New York.

She married Peter Morris in October 1948 at the age of 18. Together they went on to have 14 children. In 1961 they moved the family to Phoenix, Arizona where she remained until her passing.

She is preceded in death by her Parents, her husband Peter Morris, her brother Carl Knight, her sons Eugene and Raymond Morris, and her daughter Linda Thorson. She is survived by 11 children and many Grand, Great-grand and Great-Great-grandchildren.   

She was a wife, mother and homemaker until starting her working career at age 56. Loretta retired from the Arizona Department of Corrections after 23 years of service, at the age of 82. After her retirement from the State, she enjoyed traveling, spending time with family and friends, and keeping her mind sharp by completing a variety of word puzzles. She was kind, caring, and compassionate. She loved, and was loved, by everyone she met. Her’s was a Life Well Lived.
