

Born on October 6, 1938, in Clint, Texas, Lucy built a life defined by resilience and an unshakable commitment to her family. Life wasn’t always easy, but Lucy did what she had to in order to provide for her children, ensuring they always had what they needed. Her determination and sacrifices left an enduring legacy of strength and love.
Lucy was the proud mother of eight children: John, Cindy, Robert, Manuel, Tommy, Lucienda, Lisa "Shelly," and Abram. She endured the profound losses of her son Manuel in February 2016 and her daughter Cindy in March 2024. She is survived by six children, 19 grandchildren, and countless great- and great-great-grandchildren who will carry forward her legacy of resilience and love.
Lucy was known for her tough demeanor, but beneath it was a heart of gold. Her home was always a hub of activity, filled with visitors and phone calls from people drawn to her warmth and generosity. Though her life was shaped by challenges, she faced them head-on, turning her circumstances around and forging a better path for herself and her family.
Her faith played a significant role in her later years. A devout Catholic, she was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Glendale and also frequented New Life Church, where she deepened her spiritual connections and found solace.
Lucy’s vibrant personality and unwavering strength made her unforgettable. She had a unique ability to connect with others, making everyone feel seen and loved. A true matriarch, she created a legacy of love, faith, and resilience that will inspire her family for generations to come.
Services will be held as follows:
• Tuesday, December 10: Viewing and Remembrance from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Advantage Maryvale Chapel, 6901 W Indian School Rd, Phoenix, AZ.
• Wednesday, December 11: Rosary at 9:30 AM and Mass at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 5614 W Orangewood Ave, Glendale, AZ. Burial will follow at 11:30 AM at Glendale Memorial Park Cemetery, 7844 N. 61st Ave, Glendale, AZ.
• A Celebration of Life will take place from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 7575 N. 67th Ave, Glendale, AZ.
The family encourages acts of kindness in her memory, reflecting her indomitable spirit and generous heart.
