He graduated from Nogales High School in 1951 and later moved to Chicago where he worked in the construction trades as a painter and as a paperhanger.
He married the love of his life, Shirley in 1955 and together they had three children. He moved his family back to Phoenix, Arizona in 1968 where they resided until his passing at home on November 02, 2020.
Luis leaves behind his wife, Shirley, daughter, Diane (Shawn) Marla and son, Luie (Candace) Garrido as well as six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Surviving siblings include Manuel (Kathy), Carmen (Fred) Lopez, Julie (Tom) Lopez, Benjamin (Gretchen), Irene (Frank) Canez, Ralph (Francis), David Garrido and Margarita Gomez.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Samuel and son Miguel as well as two grandsons, Michael and Anthony Garrido.
