Lyle Dean Miller was born on August 2, 1934 in Lake Park, Iowa to Gethel and Lincoln Miller who were both teachers. After finishing school, Lyle worked in a local hardware store and later in a Montgomery Wards store in Minnesota.
He served in the US Coast Guard. In 1958 he brought his folks to Arizona because of his father’s health. In 1960 he married Lou Ellen Moore. They were married 61 and a half years. Lyle worked 26 years at the Arizona State Hospital in the Engineering Department and Lou worked as a Librarian in the patients’ library for 20 years.
After early retirement Lyle worked for a local vet lab for several years. He enjoyed CB and HAM radio. He also liked hunting and sometimes fishing. Another interest of his was watching car races.
He and some friends built a cabin in the Happy Jack area where he and Lou spent their summers for many years.
