M. Candace Tramps, 78, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.
Candy was born in Mitchell, South Dakota on February 23,1947. After attending Notre Dame High School, she married David L. Tramps in 1970. Candy had a passion for taking care of others, always. She instilled strong family ethics and an overabundance of love in her family. She proudly raised her two daughters, Susan and Becky, with unconditional love and never-ending support. Through life’s adventures, and numerous states, including South Dakota, Colorado, Florida (a place she swore she’d never return) stopping last in 1987 in Phoenix, Arizona she was the foundation that held the family together. Family was everything to her.
As a Registered Nurse, Candy’s love, kindness and compassion was contagious to all those who crossed her path. Through every presence, her smile brightened the room and provided a sense of peace. The relationships and lifelong friendships she shared were evidence of the deep connection she valued during her journey. She had a special place in her heart for animals, specifically those who were hurt or in need of care. At the same time, Candy was quick with a response to a funny joke or remark with her unforgettable sense of humor.
The stories Candy shared over the years with family and friends demonstrated her love for life. As an avid sports fan, she was the first to share news breaking information regarding the Phoenix Suns, the Arizona Cardinals (and any other football team) and the latest tennis match. She spent many memorable hours sailing the seas with her husband living by the philosophy “You can’t control the wind, but you can adjust the sails”.
Candy was preceded in death by her husband, David L. Tramps, her parents, Raymond J. and Dardanella Callan, and her sister, Susan K. Callan.
