

Margaret Jacobs Delph, a resident of Phoenix, Arizona, died on December 14, 2012 at the age of 87 surrounded by all her family. She was born on January 4, 1925, in Canon City, Colorado. Her parents were John Marshall Jacobs and Helen Shufflebarger Jacobs. She was the second daughter of three, Jeanne and Suzanne (deceased). Her family came to Phoenix, Arizona in 1934. She attended Kenilworth and Grand Avenue grammar schools and graduated from Phoenix Union High School. She attended the University of Colorado and the University of Arizona where she earned a B. A. degree in 1947. She and her beloved, Edwin Kaup Delph, were married in May of 1948 in Phoenix, Arizona. They had a "wonderful" marriage for 64 years. They were blessed with three "wonderful" children, Edwin G., Andy V., and H. Suzanne. Her seven "perfect" grandchildren are Kristin, Jacob, Tawnya, Charlie, Trina, Matthew and Jonathan. Her five "awesome" great grandchildren are Madeleine, Hudson, Tessa, Bennett and Victoria. Her "wonderful" in-laws included Rebecca, wife of Edwin G.; Patsy, ex-wife of Andy V.; Fernando, married to Trina; Ryan, married to Tawnya; Corey, married to Kristin and Colleen married to Matthew. In the community, Margie was involved in various activities at All Saints Episcopal Church for over 60 years. At All Saints she was on the Altar Guild, served in Sunday School, Neighbors, Daughters of the King, Kneeling Bench Needle Point, Kitchen committee and other church ministries. Other community activities included Visiting Nurse Auxiliary, Assistance League of Phoenix, Girl Scout Camp Committee, Goodwill Sale, Pi Beta Phi Alumnae group, Saguaro Club and the Lost Boys of Sudan support group. She also served for an Episcopal Capital Fund Drive. She was a member of Moon Valley Country Club for 52 years and Pinetop Country Club for 36 years. But her first priority was her pleasure in her husband, Ed, then helping to rear her children, enjoying her grandchildren and in being so blessed with living to see and enjoy her great grandchildren. Memorial services will be Friday, December 21, 2012 at 2:00 pm at All Saints Episcopal Church, 6300 N. Central Avenue, with inurnment to follow. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The Sudanese Foundation, Suite 100, 714 E. Rose Lane, Phoenix, Arizona, 85014.
