Margaret Jane Elias

Margaret Elias July 26, 1932-January 19, 2023. Margaret Elias passed away in the comfort of her home in Phoenix, Arizona with family by her side. She was born in Toledo, Ohio and moved to Phoenix during high school. She graduated from North High where she met her husband, Joe Elias. The duo married in 1951 and owned a successful Mexican food restaurant, Don Jose, for 41 years. Margaret was a dedicated wife and homemaker giving birth to their seven children within ten years. When time would allow, she enjoyed playing tennis and frequenting the casinos. Margaret had a deep passion for arts and crafts and spent endless hours creating custom works of art in her studio. She enjoyed visiting their cabin in Forest Lakes where her children and grandchildren spent many years exploring on the ATV, fishing and playing cards. Margaret is survived by her sister Emma Bishop and seven children Diane Utley (Bruce), Patti DaVee (Tom), Cathy Garrett, Peggy Shields, Susie Cotter (Jimmy), Joe Elias, and Marla Elias. She was blessed with eighteen grandchildren and twenty-seven great grandchildren. Margaret's wildly funny, generous, and loving spirit will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
