Margaret Ann Jones

Margaret Ann “Margi” Jones, age 78 of Peoria, AZ passed away Monday, June 23, 2025 at Lake Pleasant Post Acute Rehabilitation Center in Peoria, Arizona. She was born July 6, 1946 in Owosso Michigan to the late Lawrence and Ida (Askew) Mrva.

Margi was raised in rural Owosso, Michigan, the oldest of four siblings and attended Goss School (which at the time was a one room K-12 old-fashioned schoolhouse) through the 8th grade. She attended St. Paul’s Catholic High School, graduating in 1964. In 1965 she married Richard Eugene Jones and they settled in Newberry Michigan where they raised their four daughters before moving to Phoenix in 1973. Margi received her LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) certificate in 1975. She worked in the healthcare field most of her life, having been employed at The Phoenix Veteran’s Hospital, Royal Oaks Lifecare Community in Sun City, AZ and Good Shepherd Retirement Center in Peoria, AZ. Margi was an avid crocheter and creating colorful afghans, blankets, throws, shawls and other useful crocheted items for friends and family gave her great satisfaction. Later in life she spent a lot of her spare time reading romance and suspense novels. Her favorite authors were JD Robb, Nora Roberts and Danielle Steele.

‍Margi was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Ida Mrva, husband Richard (Dick) Jones, brother, William (Bill) Mrva, grandson Richard Scott Bailey and son-in-law Nick Langley and niece Cassandra (Cassie) Mrva.

‍She is survived by her brothers Dan (Yong Ae) Mrva, Tim (Cindy) Mrva, daughters Traci (Ray) Langley, Kim Langley, Donna (Richard) Brannen, Kelli (Brian) Fritzler, grandchildren Lawrence Taylor, Michelle (Anthony) Fitch, Josh (Jessica) Bailey, John Matthew (Mireya) Anderson, Danielle Anderson (Robert Wayne), Shaye Langley, William Fritzler, and eight great grandchildren.‍

A celebration of Margi’s life will be conducted at 10:00 AM Monday July 14th at Greer-Wilson Chapel.

A committal service will follow at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, located at 2929 E Pinnacle Peak Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85024, on July 14, 2025, from 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm.
