She was born in Texas, but had lived in Arizona for more than 30 years.
"Margarita" in Spanish means "daisy" and it is also the birth flower for the month that she was born.
Perhaps she is summed up in the poem "Daisies" by Frank Dempster Sherman:
At evening when I go to bed
I see the stars shine overhead;
They are the little daisies white
That dot the meadow of the night.
And often while I'm dreaming so,
Across the sky the moon will go;
It is a lady, sweet and fair,
Who comes to gather daisies there.
For, when at morning I arise,
There's not a star left in the skies;
She's picked them all and dropped them down
Into the meadows of the town.
A public visitation for Margarita will be held Monday, September 18, 2023 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at Jericho Tabernacle, 1248 E. Roeser Road, Phoenix, AZ 85040. Her funeral service will be from 10:00 AM to noon, with a committal service to follow at Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery, 2300 West Van Buren, Phoenix, AZ 85009.
