

Born January 25, 1922, passed away April 12, quietly in her sleep. She is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Ludwig Chernek. Also preceding her are her parents, Almon Ray Crawford, and Vera Ann Crawford, of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. She also outlived 10 siblings- 5 brothers and 5 sisters, whom she loved dearly. She is survived by 3 children: Michael Chernek (Maryanne) of Fountain Hills, AZ, Tonya Chernek of Visalia California, and Stephen Chernek of Phx., Az. She was "Nana" to 9 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. She also has many nieces and nephews who are dearly loved. She was a "Rosie The Riveter" during WWII, working at Goodyear Aerospace building airplanes. All throughout her life, she volunteered for many services, including March of Dimes, Girl Scouts of America, Phx. Baptist Hospital, The Caledonian Society of Az., Clan Donald, USA, North Phoenix Baptist Church Choir, Az Genealogical Society, and many other causes. Her door was always open to our many friends and relatives.A special thanks to J&B Assisted Living, for your sincere love and care for our mother. You are all angels on earth. Public visitation will be Monday night, AprIl 19, 6-9 p.m., A.L. Moore-Grimshaw Mortuary, 710 W. Bethany Home Rd. Funeral is Tuesday, April 20, at A.L. Moore Mortuary, 710 W. Bethany Home Rd., and Graveside services will be at the National Memorial Cemetery of AZ., 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd.
