She was born on April 8, 1930 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Lillian Margeurite and Curtis Anthon Lamb, one of four sisters; Maxine Shutt (deceased), Sherma Bishop and Alice Griffith (surviving).
Marie married her high school sweetheart, Allen Carver Gillespie in 1947. Their marriage lasted until his death in 1997 and produced 9 children, 24 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
After family, Marie’s greatest joy came from her activities in the Unity Church of Phoenix and the lifelong friendships she developed there.
