Marion R. Martin-Wabbington, age 91 passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2024. Marion was born to Az and Willie Martin in Hope, Arkansas. Hope was where they called home for the first five years of Marion's life, before the family moved to Texas.
Life eventually led Marion to Phoenix, Arizona where she settled in and became very involved with First Institutional Baptist Church in the late 70's. She made a host of long lasting friends in her time there. She was also an avid reader of all sorts of different books but primarily enjoyed mystery novels, always enjoying the adventures those stories would entail. Which lines up, because from a very young age Marion loved the outdoors and being in nature. That stayed with her all throughout, and even later in to life because the family couldn't get her to stop walking to all sorts of places all over town. You wouldn't catch her without wearing a well articulated outfit with complimentary shoes and a hat to match. One of the many places she enjoyed going out to was the movies, but also loved watching any one of the multitude of films she had in her personal collection from the comfort of her very own home.
Marion is survived by her son Bennie Lee Wabbington; her son Roy Lester Wabbington; her daughter Lois Marie Wabbington; her son Bruce Wayne Green; and her son Kim Jonée Green and is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and various other family and close friends.
Marion was preceded in death by her daughter Linda Ann Wabbington and her daughter Brenda Wabbington.
