OBITUARY
Martin D. Thomas
December 12, 1942 – November 28, 2019
Dr. Martin David Thomas, Ph.D, went to be with his Lord on Thanksgiving day, November 28, 2019, after an extended illness. Born in Douglas Arizona on December 6, 1942, to Le Roy David Thomas and Adrianna Rotier Thomas, he is survived by his loving wife, Dr. Karla Von Ehrenkrook Ph.D, his sons Jonathan (Tina) and Jeffrey (Stacy), sisters Betty Winters and Martha Leech (Byron), and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife Peggy of 42 years, in 2007. The son of a Christian minister, Martin received extensive spiritual education, and at age 16 he assisted missionaries to Nayarit State, Mexico in translating the Bible into the Cora Indian Language. Martin’s life has been one of prayer, evangelism, missionary work, humanitarian service and leadership. His giving heart and his Christ-like nature has blessed all who met him. He has led a life of sacrifice and yet one of power which has been poured out upon the darkness of this world. His attitude and witness have helped dreams to come true for many people. His humanitarian service knew now bounds. Martin started and organized Papa T’s, a ministry for single moms, widows and widowers, from everything to putting roofs on their homes to supplying food and clothing, transportation, and rescuing runaway kids. Whether volunteering, building camps, sitting in chair positions on various boards, teaching, counseling, raising funds or speaking, he was always ready to provide leadership and lend a helping hand. A gifted singer, he was able to use his artistic abilities to bring healing and deliverance to countless people. Martin had many friends and he has been a friend to so many who are grateful for his influence of life-changing counseling, encouragement and assistance in getting them back on track, from gang members, to moms, widows or widowers. Many are grateful to this dedicated man who has given them a chance to become someone, because of his life of service. He was able to handle challenges of the soul with skill, rendering the enemy powerless. In June, 2010, Martin married his childhood friend, Dr. Karla Von Ehrenkrook, Ph.D, L.Ac, D.D., IACCP. Working together, Martin was able to expand his ministry when they combined his love of music with her healing methods. Martin was a highly gifted man and humanitarian with years of service to the community, rendering outstanding results. He turned sorrow into shouts of victory because of his ability to express the love of God through his singing. Whether he was singing at a wedding, funeral or a joyful concert, he always gave God the glory for the joy he shared. Whether the song in his heart was major, minor, flats or sometimes sharps, Martin’s love for life would strike your heartstrings with the music of joy that filled your being. The favor of God has definitely been on his life! My beloved husband I love you unconditionally, Karla Von Ehrenrkook

Our prayers are with you all as you travel through this time of grief. May God give you all great memories to share with each other to bring you comfort in the days ahead.
I know Mom and Dad (Darlene and Bob Payne) had great ministries with Martin over the years.
