Mary was born on July 31, 1950, in Grass Valley, California, to James and Anna Rose Davy. She grew up on the family farm in California alongside her siblings Jim, Gail, Doug, and Bryan. Her youngest sister, Janet, was born just before the family moved to Yuma, AZ in 1964.
A devoted mother, Mary raised two sons, Matthew and Steven. She loved both sons unconditionally and spent the early years of motherhood caring for her first husband, Doug, and their boys. Once her sons were teenagers, she pursued her career as a talented hairdresser. Earlier in life she enjoyed hiking, riding bikes, and vacations to San Diego. Later in life, she met the love of her life, David O. Waters. They shared a beautiful 30-year marriage in Phoenix and enjoyed taking trips together to gather with family.
Mary will be remembered for her loving heart, her dedication to family, her strong Catholic faith throughout her life, her love for flowers and gardening, and the joy she brought to everyone around her. She leaves behind a legacy of strength and resilience.
She is survived by her loving husband, David O. Waters; her siblings Jim Davy, Gail Farrar, Douglas Davy, Bryan Davy, and Janet Pierson; her son Matthew Engstler and his wife Karie; and her grandchildren Randall Engstler and Breanna Engstler.
Mary was preceded in death by her son Steven Engstler, her first husband Douglas Engstler, and her parents James and Anna Rose Davy.
