Mary Frances Trenberth, age 83, of Phoenix, went to be with our Lord on Friday, April 6, 2018. She was born on May 18, 1934 to the late Glenn Phillip and Edith Maurine (Krause) Oliphant in Muskogee, OK. In 1945 she moved with her family to Phoenix. Mary graduated from North High School; then furthered her education at Phoenix College where she obtained an Associates of Art degree. During this time Mary pledged with the Beta Sigma Phi (Alpha Eta Master) Sorority and was a lifelong member. In 1952, while attending Phoenix College she met Raymond “Ray” Noel Trenberth. They married in Phoenix in 1955, and had their son, Christopher Alan Trenberth, in 1959. Shortly after college, Mary started working at APS where she rose up to be the Executive Secretary for several Presidents of the company and retired from there in 1990 after 35 years of service. She played the piano, cello, accordion, sang in a choir, and participated in numerous activities with her sorority sisters and friends. She and her husband enjoyed traveling with friends and family and they visited numerous locations around the world. In 2005, Ray and Mary celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, Ray in 2014; and their son, Christopher in 2011. Mary is survived by her grandson, Christopher William Trenberth of Tucson. Mary was dearly loved by all her friends and family and will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Shadow Mountain Mortuary, 2350 E. Greenway Road, Phoenix, Arizona 85022, with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mary’s honor may be made to the Arizona Humane Society.
